DECLARED MONUMENTS IN NIGERIA
Chief Ogiamen's House in Benin:
This is a fine example of a Benin style house with an elaborate system
of court yards and alters.
It is probably unique in being an important Chief's house which was built
before the 1897 expedition and which was not touched by the big fire which
occurred at that time and destroyed most of the city.
Declaration:
Declared Monument on 26th May, 1959.
