Brief:
The museum office was established in 1988 as a base for a future museum
of National Unity. A mini-gallery was created and opened to the public
in 2002 with an exhibition theme: Money and Household Utencils. New and
bigger exhibition gallery has just been build to house ethnographic materials
from the environs.
A nearby archaeological site at Ogbaku Town, near Owerri, is on the study
plan of the museum.
