OYO

Brief:
National museum Oyo was established in 2003 as a forerunner of community museum development in Nigeria. It was put into existence to ginger collaboration, or put precisely, to form a synergy between National Commission for Museums and Monuments and Oyo Community.

So it was on the strength of this museum and community partnership that the Alaafin of Oyo donated three blocks of building for the take-off of the museum

The basic objective of the Museum is the collection, Preservation and Presentation of all the Essence that Oyo represents in Yoruba History and Culture.
