Brief:
The museum collection was started in 1975 as part of the Rivers State
Art Council. It is presently housed in one of the colonial prefabricated
houses erected by the colonial government at the beginning of 20th century.
Nearby are the historic Opobo Island, Bonny Island, King Odriye’s
Mausoleum at Ogbolomabiri, the Ogidigan Deity at Basambiri, Nembe, and
the first oil wells at Oloibiri
