Brief:
The museum was established in 1988 in response to the Federal Government’s
policy of establishing a Museum of National Unity in each state of the
Federation.
The museum office manages Sukur World Heritage Site from 1999, when the
site was inscribed on the World Heritage List.
The Museum also manages the Fombina Palace Museum for the Adamawa Emirate
Council, Yola. The palace museum contains ethnographic and historical
collections reflecting the history of Adamawa (Fombina) Emirate.
