DEPARTMENTS

The Commission is headed by the Director-General (Mallam Yusuf Abdalla
Usman) under whose office you have other units like Projects and Works,
Audit, Legal, Public Relations and MIS. These units serve as propellers
for the day-to-day running of the DGs office.
In achieving the set goals and vision, the Commission is divided into
six (6) active departments as follows.
Department of Administration and Supplies
DIRECTOR: Barr. O. A. S. Alasan
TERMS:
To oversee the general administration of the Commission including its
day to day running. This also handles the human resource and supplies
of both human and material needs for the running of the Commission.
Department of Museums
DIRECTOR: Nath Mayo Adediran
TERMS:
The Department is involved in the day-to-day running of all the museums
and outstations in the country. It organises exhibitions, document, curate
and conserve artifact and museum objects. It also researches and studies
the objects taking into cognizance its anthropological/historical purposes.
Department of Monuments, Heritage and Sites
DIRECTOR: Oluremi F. Adebayo
TERMS:
This is involve with identifying and listing of all the monumental and
heritage sites across the country.
Department of Research, Planning and Publications
DIRECTOR: Dr. Musa Hambolu
TERMS:
This Department is responsible for carrying out archaeological research,
planning and publications of finds for the Commission.
Department of Educational Services and Training
DIRECTOR: Assoc. Prof. Barth Chukwueze
TERMS:
This oversees the running of the Institute of Archaeology and Museums
Studies (IAMS), as welll as render educational services to the general
public and corporate institutions on the general affairs of the Commission.
Department of Finance and Accounts
DIRECTOR: Mr. Olubode Oke
TERMS:
This department is responsible for the financing and account keeping for
the Commission. They also advice the other departments on monetary and
budgetary issues.
