Rock paintings of Dutsen Murufu at Birnin Kudu:
Another site of rock paintings at Birnin Kudu in Kano State. Dutsen Murufu
lies just South of the main road on the east side of the town and has
a representation in white paint of short-honed bull together with other
fainter paintings and a magnificent series of rock gongs.
Although the present population is almost exclusively Muslim, there is
a custom probably deriving from earlier times where by young girls before
marriage go to the site and spend a whole day there.
The site is physically protected by walls.

Declared Ancient Monument on 15th December, 1964.
