DECLARED MONUMENTS IN NIGERIA
Stone Figures at Ijara inIlorin Province:
The carving are arranged in a small circle with one in the middle. They
are carved in light-coloured chrystalline rock and are all headless, though
three detached heads more or less fit three of the bodies.
All the figures are male and are seated on stools. The largest would
have been about 30" high when completed. Ijara is situated 3 miles
along a branch road which leaves the Oke Onigbin. ( P.A Allison; "Newly

Declaration:
Declared Ancient Monument on 5th August, 1964 made up of a group of Eight
Stone Figures which are related artistically to those of Esie.
